"family isn't defined only by last names or by blood; it's defined by commitment and by love. it means showing up when they need you the most. it means having each other's backs. it means choosing to love each other even on those days when you struggle to like each other. it means never giving up on each other."- Kelli Grimm, 13

LIFE has morphed into a new phase for us.   First of all, Abby has won the Timothy Award in AWANA. This means that she has completed every Bible Memory book since she was 3 years old (she is 12).  She has also decided it would be a lot more interesting to "go to school" rather than home school since her brother and sister have graduated.  This is understandable as Mom now has a part time job.

So, after much contemplation, a conference with Dad, and a visit to the school to meet the principal and some of the teachers, we have enrolled Abby in the local Christian school.  Some of her friends attend there, so she did not feel all out of sorts to begin.

Big brother Caleb and big sister Leah had each done a year of online college with College Plus / Lumerit Education (affiliate of Liberty U.).  Leah was a Senior in High School when she began taking credits.
Through and awesome chain of events BOTH my teens decided to put college on hold, apply and were accepted                  AS MISSIONARIES with Encounter Revival Ministries (ERM), Harrisburg, PA.  ERM's home base is Mt. Lou San Bible Camp, Harrisburg, PA.

Encounter is a singing ministry; they tour the eastern US visiting churches, schools, nursing homes, etc. with the Truth of the Gospel of Christ through skits, songs, and children's programing (teens too!).  Their director, Ardy Parlin, presents the adult programs.  Over the summer the Team members serve as camp counsellors at Mt. Lou San Bible Camp.

The ERM team learns the SIGN LANGUAGE to many of their songs so that the deaf may benefit from these teachings too.
Last year they went to JAMAICA for two weeks. They visited thousands of people over the 2 weeks of ministry... many orphanages, old age homes, regular schools and deaf schools in Jamaica and were able to communicate with the deaf children.  The deaf children also sang and signed to the Team.  Priceless! The "Team Year" runs August to August.
Caleb and Leah loved the ministry so much, they signed up for a SECOND year, 2018-2019 Team.  My kids are loving the Lord and serving him with their lives.  Please pray with us for God's leading and direction in their young lives.
